  **STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY**
  My first time ever leaving an online review of any sort, but my HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE of my DISGUSTING customer experience with this company has led me here. I wish I could give it zero stars, but Google won't let me.
  
  I will also be going to Fair Trading with this matter - for the first time also.
  
  Jeane (the supervisor) was the WORST customer representative I have ever spoken to.
  
  I rented the car for three days while on a business trip, and on the second day the car broke down due to a wheel malfunction. I organised towing through Hertz, and was told that I needed to accompany the car back to the Airport which was a one hour drive.
  
  I still do not know why the malfunction has happened, and was never explained why. Despite getting the full available insurance, they say this is a breach and that I am liable for the repair costs, and the street parking fines due to misguidance of Hertz staff.
  
  THEY CONFIRMED THAT NO EXTERNAL DAMAGE HAD BEEN DONE, YET I AM STILL RESPONSIBLE - THEY JUST TELL ME THAT IT IS A 'BREACH'.
  
  I needed to rush to the next meeting so I parked the car on the side, and was told that I can call back after to organise towing (before 9pm). However, when I came back to the vehicle at 8:16pm - all the calls went straight to voicemail and could not get the car towed.
  
  I had no choice to go back to the hotel, and decided to call in the morning of the third day. When I called, Hertz told me to wait because they could organise towing without me there (as I needed to attend other meetings). I waited for one hour and thirty minutes, and I had to call back to be told that they can't do anything. I cancelled all requests for towing because I was now late for the meetings and was busy rescheduling them.
  
  I called back 6pm that evening after cabbing it around to the meetings, and was told that I couldn't organise towing through the main Hertz number which conflicted with what the Hertz Coolangatta attendant told me. For thirty minutes next to the car, I was arguing and calling back between the towing department and Hertz Coolangatta about THEIR OWN POLICIES.
  
  Hertz Coolangatta finally organised the towing, and I was picked up in the truck. I was dropped off at the car repair centre, and had to run to the airport to catch my flight.
  
  Thank you Hertz, and the horrible staff at Coolangatta for the WORST CUSTOMER experience of my life.

  It was very bad. Please avoid this company. We used this company and didn't want to pay extra so had excess of 4000 by default. We were so very careful with driving and didn't bump everywhere.
  Then after we returned the car and flew back to NZ, they just took out 4000 dollars from bank account without even telling us because they found a small scratch on the car.
  We are so positive that we didn't bump or scratch anywhere for the 5 days cos we have been so careful! But then we didn't have prove that the scratch was there prior to driving off.
  Now we are fined for something we didn't do. We feel so cheated! Our 5 days small trip to Australia just turned from 2000 to 6000 dollars expense!
  We will be extra careful next time we rent any cars and will have to take photos and point out any dent or smallest scratch before driving off.
